Pay Rate:
$20-$38 TradSTAR is hiring experienced Voice & Data Technicians for commercial low-voltage projects throughout the Austin area. We're seeking technicians with experience installing, terminating, testing, and troubleshooting structured cabling systems in commercial environments. Responsibilities Install, terminate, test, and troubleshoot Cat5e, Cat6, Cat6A, coax, and fiber optic cabling. Install cable tray, J-hooks, ladder rack, conduit, and pathway systems. Build and dress MDF/IDF rooms, racks, patch panels, cable management, and network equipment. Label, test, and certify structured cabling systems. Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, and low-voltage drawings. Perform cable testing using Fluke certification testers or equivalent equipment. Troubleshoot copper and fiber cabling infrastructure. Maintain organized, code-compliant installations. Qualifications 2+ years of commercial structured cabling experience preferred. Experience with copper and fiber optic installations and terminations. Knowledge of TIA/EIA structured cabling standards. Experience terminating RJ45 connectors, patch panels, keystone jacks, and fiber enclosures. Experience with Fluke testers, cable analyzers, fusion splicers, or OTDR equipment is a plus. Ability to work from ladders and lifts. Valid driver's license required.
