Network Installation Technician

Onsite / Travel (North Texas, 85% travel)

Job Description:

We are supporting a large-scale switch refresh initiative across hospital environments, requiring hands-on Network Installation Technicians to deploy, cable, and troubleshoot Cisco switching infrastructure. This role is highly travel-based and focused on execution in live healthcare environments. Ideal candidates are detail-oriented, physically capable, and experienced with structured cabling and network hardware installs. This is a fast-paced deployment project with long-term extension potential.

Responsibilities:

Install and deploy Cisco switches and related network hardware Perform structured cabling (copper and fiber) installs and modifications Troubleshoot L1/L2 connectivity issues during deployment Label, organize, and manage cabling and hardware inventory Support rack/stack and cable management activities Follow installation plans and direction from team leads Maintain accurate documentation via mobile/computer tools Communicate effectively with team leads and customer stakeholders Ensure compliance with healthcare safety protocols Work efficiently in active hospital environments

RequirementsMust-Have Qualifications:

2+ years hands-on network installation experience (NOT helpdesk) Strong experience with Cisco switch installs (rack/stack/cable) Experience with copper AND fiber cabling Proven troubleshooting at physical/network layer (L1/L2) Willingness to travel 80-85% (non-negotiable) Ability to work in hospitals, ORs, and sensitive environments Physically able to lift 35-50 lbs and work in tight spaces Ability to follow structured deployment instructions Must be eligible for vPRO clearance (TB test, flu shot, etc.)

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

CCNA/CCNP

certification Prior healthcare or hospital deployment experience Experience with large-scale refresh projects Familiarity with structured cabling standards Experience working under project-based install teams
