In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing access control systems, CCTV surveillance equipment, and related security infrastructure. Your expertise will ensure the safety and security of facilities through reliable system operation and proactive service. The ideal candidate is energetic, highly motivated, and possesses a strong foundation in electrical systems, networking, and security hardware. Responsibilities Install, configure, and maintain access control systems including electronic locks, card readers, biometric devices, and remote access software. Set up and troubleshoot CCTV surveillance systems, including cameras, monitors, DVRs/NVRs, and associated cabling. Conduct routine inspections of security hardware such as sensors, alarms, fire alarm systems, and low voltage wiring to ensure optimal operation. Perform system diagnostics and repairs on computer hardware and networking components integral to security systems. Interpret schematics and technical drawings to accurately install or modify security infrastructure according to design specifications. Assist with system design projects by providing technical input on system layout, cabling routes, and integration with telecommunication networks. Support field service operations by responding promptly to service requests at client sites or facilities. Use hand tools and power tools safely to install or repair security equipment in construction or existing environments. Collaborate with clients or team members on alarm system sales or upgrades to meet their specific security needs. Maintain detailed records of installations, repairs, inspections, and system configurations for compliance and future reference. Skills Strong knowledge of computer networking principles as they relate to security systems integration. Mechanical aptitude for working with sensors, lock mechanisms, power supplies, and construction components. Proven experience as a service technician in security or surveillance systems with a focus on troubleshooting complex issues. Familiarity with schematics, wiring diagrams, low voltage electrical systems, NEC (National Electrical Code) standards, and construction practices. Hands-on experience with CCTV cameras (analog/digital), surveillance equipment, alarm systems (including fire alarms), and IDS (Intrusion Detection Systems). Ability to operate hand tools such as screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers; power tools including drills and power saws for installation tasks. Competence in configuring remote access software for system monitoring or troubleshooting off-site issues. Electrical experience related to cabling (cat5e/6/fiber optic), power supplies, grounding techniques, and low voltage wiring standards. Knowledge of locksmithing principles for integrating electronic locks with access control platforms. Excellent communication skills for working directly with clients or team members; ability to interpret technical schematics clearly.
