Hiring for Commercial CCTV Traveling Technician in the Austin/San Antonio Area Who are we? Job Summary The Service Technician is responsible providing exceptional service to our customers while performing on-site diagnostic, troubleshooting, preventive and corrective maintenance on a variety of gate and door systems. Essential Duties and Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform these essential functions. Provides a positive, collaborative, and informative customer service experience to both residential and commercial customers. Diagnoses the nature of the issue triggering the service call. Confirms authorization to perform the repair, scope, and warranty-related issues are resolved before beginning work. Performs all necessary preventative and corrective maintenance. Welds, wires, and programs customer equipment as required by the nature of the service call. Ensures all workplace health and safety requirements are met. Maintains housekeeping and security of customer locations and job sites. Ensures device operates as intended and as desired by the customer. Closes out the call in Service Titan. Documents the scope of work completed and identifies any other malfunctioning customer equipment or opportunities for additional work. Manages truck inventory and partners with support team to order or purchase specialized equipment, missing parts, and other components and tools. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements:
Proficient in the setup and installation of CCTV systems, Cat 6 cabling, and networking infrastructure. Familiar with IP addressing and VMS Skilled in interpreting blueprints and site maps. Capable of troubleshooting cameras and switches Certified to operate BOOM or scissor lifts, with a comfort level working at elevated heights Possesses essential telecommunication tools, personal protective equipment (PPE) Demonstrates expertise in cabling infrastructure. Experience in conduit installation Familiarity with Axis/March Networks cameras is a positive attribute. Willingness to travel as necessary for job assignments. Has reliable/ presentable transportation and holds a valid driver's license with a clean driving record, free from DUI or DWI incidents within the past three years. Required Education and Experience Education and/or experience equivalent a High School diploma and 3 or more years working with gate operators, electronic controls, or other low-voltage electrical systems, or similar trade-related experience. Associates degree or vocational program with a focus on electro-mechanical systems preferred. Familiarity with basic welding principles preferred. At least 2 years of field service-related experience working on-site at customer locations and interacting with customers. OSHA 10-Hour Certification preferred.
Additional Qualifications Communications:
Able to communicate effectively in written and oral format with diverse individuals. Able to present information and respond to questions with peers, managers, clients, customers, and the general public on technical subjects. Able to read and comprehend written work instructions, technical documents, blueprints, manufacturer instruction manuals and other materials in English.
Math:
Able to perform simple addition, subtraction, multiplication and division using standard units of measure and weight.
Reasoning:
Able to apply common sense understanding to carry out complex instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to develop logical troubleshooting techniques based on an understanding of the product performance and test requirements.
Time Management:
Able to track and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment with several simultaneous projects/work orders. Able to work with minimal supervision.
Technology:
Knowledge of email, texting, and work order systems sufficient for basic communication, reporting, and notes.
Physical Requirements:
Able to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs. frequently throughout the day. Able to stand, climb, walk, kneel, and crouch frequently, as required at a variety of customer locations/work sites.
Driving:
Able to operate a motor vehicle for extended periods of time and possess a clean driving record. Work Environment The physical environment for this position includes construction sites, warehouses, and outdoor customer locations. Frequently required to use and promote use of personal protective equipment to prevent injury. Travel Required Frequent day travel to and from job sites, vendor locations, and offices.
