Position Summary The Low Voltage Installer is responsible for the installation, programming, testing, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of commercial and residential CCTV, intrusion alarm, access control, and related low-voltage systems. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service while ensuring all work meets company standards, manufacturer specifications, and applicable codes. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, and commission CCTV camera systems, video management systems (VMS), and network video recorders (NVRs/DVRs). Install and program intrusion alarm systems, including control panels, keypads, motion detectors, door/window contacts, glass break sensors, and related devices. Install, configure, and test access control systems, including card readers, keypads, electric strikes, magnetic locks, request-to-exit devices, and door hardware. Run, terminate, label, and test low-voltage cabling, including Cat5e, Cat6, fiber optic, and security wiring. Read and interpret blueprints, floor plans, wiring diagrams, and technical specifications to ensure accurate system installation. Troubleshoot and resolve system issues involving cameras, alarms, access control hardware, network connectivity, and power supplies. Perform system testing, quality assurance checks, and final commissioning to ensure all equipment operates properly. Train customers and end users on system operation, functionality, and basic troubleshooting procedures. Complete service reports, installation documentation, as-built drawings, and other required project records accurately and timely. Coordinate with project managers, customers, contractors, and other trades to ensure successful project execution. Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, industry standards, and company safety policies. Ensure installations meet manufacturer specifications, National Electrical Code (NEC) requirements, and industry best practices. Maintain company-issued tools, vehicles, equipment, and inventory in a professional and organized manner. Respond to service calls, emergency repairs, and scheduled maintenance requests as assigned. Assist with system upgrades, expansions, and retrofits for existing customers. Support network-related tasks including IP addressing, device configuration, switch connectivity, and basic network troubleshooting. Maintain a professional appearance and provide exceptional customer service at all job sites. Identify opportunities for additional services, upgrades, or system enhancements and communicate recommendations to management. Participate in ongoing technical training to remain current on industry technologies, products, and installation methods. Follow all OSHA safety requirements, ladder safety procedures, and safe work practices while on customer sites. Travel throughout the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding areas as required to support installations and service calls. Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel locally for installations or service calls. Performance Expectations Complete installations on time and within budget. Maintain high first-time pass rates on system testing and inspections. Deliver exceptional customer satisfaction and professionalism. Maintain accurate documentation and project records.
