• Full-time Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Cable Technician to join our dynamic telecommunications team.

In this role, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of cabling systems and network infrastructure to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical expertise in telecommunications, computer networking, and electrical systems, along with excellent customer service skills. This position offers an opportunity to work on diverse projects, including fiber optic splicing, network installation, and telecommunication equipment setup, supporting the seamless operation of critical communication networks. Responsibilities Install, troubleshoot, and repair various cabling systems including Cat5, Cat6, and fiber optic cables in commercial and residential environments. Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately execute installation tasks. Conduct network installations Utilize hand tools and power tools safely to perform cable pulling, termination, testing, and equipment repair. Test electrical circuits using ohmmeters and other diagnostic tools to identify faults or performance issues. Provide exceptional customer service by explaining technical solutions clearly and ensuring client satisfaction during service visits. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed, including diagrams, test results, and service reports. Adhere to safety protocols and electrical codes such as NEC (National Electrical Code) standards during all installation activities. Assist in the setup of data centers or telecommunication rooms by installing low voltage wiring and related hardware. Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician or cable technician within telecommunications or IT industries. Strong knowledge of computer hardware, networking protocols (LAN/WAN), Ethernet standards (Cat5/Cat6), and telecommunication systems such as Avaya or VoIP. Hands-on experience with fiber splicing techniques and equipment. Familiarity with schematics, electrical wiring practices, NEC compliance, and low voltage cabling standards. Proficiency in using diagnostic tools like ohmmeters for troubleshooting electrical issues. Ability to operate power tools safely while performing cable installation or equipment repair tasks. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate complex technical information clearly. Physical ability to lift heavy equipment, work at heights if necessary, and perform manual labor in various environments.
