Job Description

We are seeking a road warrior. Position is 100% travel Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Cable Technician to join our team, responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a variety of telecommunication and networking systems. This role requires a strong understanding of network infrastructure, cabling standards, and technical troubleshooting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with fiber optics, Ethernet, Cisco routers, VoIP systems, and low voltage wiring. This position offers an excellent opportunity for professionals with a background in IT, telecommunications, or electrical systems to apply their expertise in a dynamic field service environment. Duties Install, troubleshoot, and repair cable systems including Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cabling, and telecommunication wiring in commercial and industrial settings. Perform fiber splicing and termination to ensure optimal data transmission quality. Set up and configure network equipment such as Cisco routers, Juniper devices, and Avaya telephony systems. Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical diagrams related to network installation projects. Conduct testing using tools such as ohmmeters and power tools to verify system integrity and performance. Assist with the installation of Ethernet networks (LAN/WAN), VoIP systems, data centers, and telephony infrastructure. Ensure compliance with NEC standards and low voltage wiring codes during all installations and repairs. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding system status and maintenance needs. Maintain detailed documentation of work performed for each project or service call. Experience Proven experience as a service technician or field technician specializing in telecommunications or networking systems. Familiarity with fiber splicing techniques and equipment repair is highly desirable. Knowledge of computer hardware, network installation, electrical systems, and telecommunication protocols such as Ethernet, LAN, VoIP, and telephony systems like Avaya is essential. Experience working in data centers or performing low voltage wiring projects is advantageous. Ability to read schematics accurately and utilize hand tools effectively for cabling and equipment installation. Previous roles involving service technician responsibilities in IT or electrical environments are highly valued. This position requires a dedicated professional with strong technical skills in telecommunications and networking infrastructure who can deliver high-quality service while adhering to safety standards.

$27.28 - $34.90 per hour Expected hours: 35 - 45 per week
