Avail - 3.5 Norfolk, VA Job Details Full-time $17 - $23 an hour 13 hours ago Benefits On-the-job training Qualifications Equipment safety procedures Floor cleaning Ability to follow instructions Materials handling Clean workspace maintenance Hand tools Full Job Description Overview Avail Staffing is seeking 30-40 energetic and dedicated Cable Pullers and Laborers with Active DBIDS clearance at Naval Station Norfolk (NOB) to join our dynamic team. In the Cable Puller role, you will be responsible for assisting marine electricians by pulling, routing, and securing electrical cables aboard ships and marine vessels. This role plays a vital part in ensuring timely and accurate cable installations across a variety of shipboard systems. In the Laborer role, you will conduct abatement cleanup while training alongside Cable Pullers. Cable Puller Responsibilities Pull, route, and secure electrical cables through bulkheads, overheads, and cable trays aboard ships Assist with the setup and organization of cable reels, pulleys, and pulling equipment Support electricians with cable identification, labeling, and termination prep Install cable supports, clamps, and penetrations as required Maintain a clean and organized work area while following safety and quality standards Ensure cables are protected from damage during installation Report any obstructions or issues that could impact routing or cable integrity Laborer Responsibilities Perform containment setup and breakdown for abatement projects aboard naval vessels. Remove and dispose of insulation, debris, coatings, and contaminated materials in accordance with project requirements. Conduct general labor duties including cleaning, sweeping, vacuuming, wiping down surfaces, and material handling. Qualifications 0-2 years of experience in marine electrical environments (shipyard experience preferred) Ability to follow written and verbal instructions Physically able to lift, pull, and work in confined spaces or elevated areas aboard ships Comfortable working in fast-paced, physically demanding environments Basic understanding of hand tools and safety procedures Active Naval Station Norfolk DBIDS is required for access to secure sites Join us to be part of a team committed to building reliable communication networks that support critical operations.   • Cable Pullers from $19 to $23 per hour Hours 40-60 hours per week, based on experience.
  • Laborers from $18 to $19 per hour working 40-60 hours per week, based on experience.
  • Cleaners starting at $17 per hour working 40-60 hours per week.
Pay:
$17.00 - $23.00 per hour
