Job Description
Overview We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Cabling and Camera Installation Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining a variety of low-voltage systems, including CCTV surveillance cameras, network cabling, and telecommunication equipment. Your expertise will ensure our clients receive reliable security and communication solutions, enhancing safety and operational efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse projects, develop technical skills, and deliver exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. Duties Install and configure CCTV camera systems, ensuring optimal placement and functionality according to schematics and client specifications Run, terminate, and test various types of cabling such as Cat5, Cat6, fiber optic cables, and low-voltage wiring in commercial and industrial settings Perform fiber splicing to connect fiber optic cables for high-speed data transmission Set up and troubleshoot network equipment including Cisco routers, Juniper devices, Ethernet switches, and VoIP telephony systems Interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals to accurately install and repair telecommunication systems Conduct routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on cabling infrastructure and related equipment using hand tools and power tools Ensure all installations comply with NEC (National Electrical Code), local electrical codes, and safety standards such as NEC guidelines for low-voltage wiring Qualifications Proven experience as a service technician or installer in telecommunications or data networking fields Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN (Local Area Network), WAN (Wide Area Network), Ethernet cabling, and network hardware Hands-on experience with fiber splicing, equipment repair, electrical wiring, and low-voltage systems Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and installation manuals for structured cabling projects Ability to operate hand tools such as crimpers, wire strippers, drills, and power tools safely and efficiently Knowledge of telephony systems including Avaya platforms and telecommunication standards like NEC regulations Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; willingness to travel locally for project sites Join us if you're passionate about building secure communication networks!
