Job Description

System Tech has been installing low voltage systems across the Northwest since 1997. We work on security cameras, access control, fire alarm, structured cabling, fiber optics, and AV systems for commercial and institutional customers throughout Idaho and across the country. ROLE OVERVIEW
We are hiring Low Voltage Installers and Technicians for a commercial data center project in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Work involves installing access control devices and IP/CCTV camera systems — wiring, mounting, terminating, and verifying operation. No programming required. This is a project-based position running through April 2027 with strong potential for extension. The right candidate may also be considered for a permanent position with System Tech in the Cheyenne area or on future projects in other locations. This is a high-profile job site with strict access and conduct requirements. Candidates must be able to pass a background check and drug screen prior to starting work.
ROLES & PAY
Installer $20-$24/hr • 0-2 yrs experience Technician $24-$35 + /hr • 2+ yrs experience Pay is based on demonstrated experience and skillset. Higher pay is possible for highly qualified candidates.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
Install access control devices including card readers, door controllers, request-to-exit devices, door contacts, and associated low voltage wiring Install IP and analog cameras — mount, wire, terminate, and aim to customer specification Pull and route low voltage cable (Cat6, coax) through conduit, cable tray, and open plenum Terminate and dress cable connections neatly and to specification Verify device operation and confirm cameras are positioned and functioning per the approved layout Work from drawings, device schedules, and verbal direction to complete installations accurately Coordinate with project leads and other trades on a busy commercial construction site Follow all site safety requirements including PPE, fall protection, and access control protocols Complete accurate daily reporting of work completed and materials used Represent System Tech professionally at all times on a high-profile client site
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Experience with low voltage wiring, device installation, or general construction — access control or camera experience a plus Entry-level candidates welcome — we will train the right person who shows up, pays attention, and takes pride in their work Comfortable working on an active commercial construction site with strict access and safety requirements Able to work at heights, on ladders, in lifts, and in confined or overhead spaces Detail-oriented — clean, accurate terminations and proper camera aim matter on this job Reliable and accountable — project schedules are tight and the client is high-profile Clean driving record; able to operate a company vehicle Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen (required by client) Low voltage license required: Must hold or be willing to obtain a State of Wyoming low voltage license and City of Cheyenne low voltage license prior to performing work. System Tech will support the licensing process for the right candidate Authorized to work in the United States
SITE REQUIREMENTS
This project is located at a commercial data center with strict on-site requirements. All candidates must be prepared to meet the following before starting work: Pass a client background check and drug screen — required for site access badging PPE required on site: steel-toed boots, hard hat, safety glasses, and gloves (employee-provided) Fall protection and ladder safety training provided by System Tech if needed Professional conduct and appearance required at all times on site Site access badge must be maintained in good standing throughout the project
WHAT YOU GET
Schedule:
Mon-Thu 10-hour shifts standard; project schedule may require Friday, weekend, or overtime work. Overtime pay available
Travel Candidates:
Per diem and hotel covered for candidates relocating temporarily for the project
Project Duration:
Through April 2027 with strong potential for extension; permanent placement possible for the right candidate
