Full Job Description Job Summary:
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.Duties:
- Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
- Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other vehicle systems
- Conduct inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs
- Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and repair diesel engines
- Perform brake repairs, including replacing brake pads, calipers, and rotors
- Repair or replace faulty components such as alternators, starters, and fuel injectors
- Weld or solder broken parts and perform basic fabrication work as needed
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Skills:
- Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle systems and heavy equipment
- Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues
- Familiar with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment used in diesel engine repair
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
- Experience with hydraulic systems is preferred but not required
- Physical strength and stamina to perform heavy lifting and manual labor tasks
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
