Full Job Description Job Summary:
As a Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on diesel-powered vehicles and equipment.
Duties:
  • Perform routine maintenance on diesel engines, including oil changes, filter replacements, and fluid checks
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical issues with diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other vehicle systems
  • Conduct inspections to identify potential problems and recommend necessary repairs
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment to troubleshoot and repair diesel engines
  • Perform brake repairs, including replacing brake pads, calipers, and rotors
  • Repair or replace faulty components such as alternators, starters, and fuel injectors
  • Weld or solder broken parts and perform basic fabrication work as needed
  • Maintain accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Skills:
  • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic
  • Strong knowledge of diesel engines, vehicle systems and heavy equipment
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing mechanical issues
  • Familiar with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment used in diesel engine repair
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics
  • Experience with hydraulic systems is preferred but not required
  • Physical strength and stamina to perform heavy lifting and manual labor tasks
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
