Job Description

Nature of Work:
This is a diesel mechanic position. Employees in this class assist with preventative maintenance and repairs of diesel and gas equipment. Employees are tasked with making mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs on equipment such as light and heavy trucks, excavators, loaders, skid steers, small engines, and more.
Essential Job Duties:
Performs preventative maintenance and machine inspections Troubleshoots issues with gas and diesel engines Determines parts and tools necessary for and performs mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical repairs. Completes service paperwork Maintains a clean and safe work area High school diploma or GED Minimum 3 years experience in heavy truck or diesel repair Manual dexterity Experience working with sanitation equipment is preferred Valid Alabama driver's license
