  • $35 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Outdoor work Full Job Description NSC Staffing has immediate opportunity for a Diesel Mechanic in Mobile, AL Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and dependable Onsite Diesel Mechanic to maintain, diagnose, and repair diesel-powered trucks, trailers, and heavy-duty equipment at a designated facility.
This role focuses on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair work to ensure fleet reliability and minimize downtime. Schedule Monday
  • Friday 7:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM Some overtime required based on workload and breakdowns Pay Rate $30
  • $35 per hour depending on experience Overtime paid at time-and-a-half where applicable Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair on diesel engines and systems Complete preventative maintenance on fleet trucks and heavy equipment Repair and replace components including brakes, suspension, hydraulics, and electrical systems Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety standards Use diagnostic software and mechanical tools to identify issues Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation Communicate with fleet managers regarding repairs and vehicle status Ensure tools, shop area, and equipment are maintained and organized Respond to urgent repair needs when required Qualifications Previous experience as a diesel mechanic or heavy equipment technician Strong knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, and hydraulic systems Ability to use diagnostic tools and repair equipment Valid driver's license with clean driving record required CDL preferred but not required (depending on facility needs) Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Strong problem-solving and mechanical aptitude Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50-100 lbs regularly Work in indoor shop and outdoor environments Standing, bending, kneeling, and working under vehicles for extended periods Comfortable working in varying weather conditions when needed #INDLI
