Job Description

We're Ness Truck Repair, a brand-new heavy-duty truck shop opening soon in Benton, and we're on the hunt for a top-notch Freightliner certified diesel mechanic to help us get rolling. To start, you'll be turning wrenches on our own fleet of affiliated tractors — but we're growing fast, and before long we'll be opening the doors to outside customers too. This is a chance to get in early at a shop where good work gets noticed. Freightliner certified with the experience to back it up? You're exactly who we're after. And if you're a sharp, experienced mechanic who's worked across multiple truck brands but aren't Freightliner certified yet, keep reading — for the right person, we'll put you through the training to get you there. The Work You'll be diagnosing, troubleshooting, and fixing just about everything that rolls through the bay: Engines Power trains Fuel systems Air systems Electrical systems and codes Tires Brakes You know how to read a diagnostic report, track down the problem, and get the truck back on the road. Some travel comes with the territory too — breakdowns, inspections, and repairs at other locations. What You'll Need Freightliner certification strongly preferred — but we'll train the right candidate who's got the experience and the work ethic At least 2 years of strong heavy-duty diesel experience across one or more truck brands (Freightliner, Volvo, Mack, etc.) Diesel/technical training certificate (required) Solid diagnostic and troubleshooting skills — you can read the reports and codes and figure out what's going on A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to work (a CDL is a nice bonus, but not required) Your own set of tools Air brake certified Basic computer skills High school diploma or GED Our fleet is housed at a secured FedEx facility, so you'll need to pass a TSA Security Threat Assessment — a federal background check covering criminal history, work authorization, and security watchlists — to gain site access. The Job's No Joke Physically You can lift up to 100 lbs. You're good with a little travel for breakdowns, inspections, and equipment repairs at other locations Pay & Perks Guaranteed salary based on experience — no flat-rate, no book hours, no sweating slow weeks. Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM. No regular nights, weekends, or rotating shifts — go home every evening and keep your weekends. (Now and then, if one of our trucks goes down and its an emergency, we may ask you to come in to get it back on the road.)
