Jul 1, 2026 Job Description Performs routine inspections, preventative maintenance, and complex mechanical repairs to ensure the school bus fleet provides students, staff, and the community with safe, reliable, and compliant transportation for learning, activities, and work. 1. Hold and maintain a valid driver's license for the type of equipment to be driven, with no serious violations. 2. Demonstrate knowledge, a minimum of three years of experience, and proficiency in several areas of maintenance (e.g., plumbing, painting, carpentry, masonry/concrete/tile, electrical, mechanical, HVAC systems, roof repair, plastering/spackling, field/playground maintenance, furniture repair, etc...). 3. Have excellent integrity and demonstrate good moral character and initiative. 4. Must be hardworking, self-motivated, and able to work well with others. 5. Perform assignments relating to insuring all schools and district sites are able to safely open andfunction when assigned. This includes working cooperatively with custodial employees during emergency operations. 6. Perform regular inspections of equipment and systems, reporting any abnormalities and hazards immediately. 7. Respond to emergency situations and perform necessary repairs. 8. Ensure that all applicable fire, safety, health, and environmental regulations and laws are observed and exceeded. 9. Maintain an adequate supply of parts and supplies usually used in repairs, and request needed supplies through the established procedures of the district. 10. Operate and maintain in a safe and operational condition all tools and equipment necessary to carry out job functions and responsibilities. 11. Must be able to meet the physical demands of the position. 12. Other duties as needed. School transportation experience &/or a CDL a plus. Salary based on verified years of relevant maintenance experience.
