Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including trucks, industrial machinery, and equipment. Your expertise will ensure that all vehicles and machinery operate safely and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment types, utilize advanced diagnostic tools, and contribute to a safety-focused environment. Duties Perform comprehensive inspections and diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, PTOs, and air brake systems using schematics and electronic diagnostic tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as roll off trucks, dump trucks, work trucks, pavers, rollers, Skid steers, forklifts, tractors, trailers, and other industrial machinery. Fabricate parts or components as needed using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to ensure proper fit and function. Replace or repair shocks & struts, tires, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and perform alignments to optimize vehicle performance. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs with a focus on automotive diagnostics and wiring schematics. Maintain detailed service records of all repairs performed; ensure compliance with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Assist with heavy lifting tasks and perform welding or assembly work for equipment repair or customization projects. Requirements Proven experience working as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes (including air brake systems), suspension components, and electrical diagnostics. Proficiency in reading schematics and technical manuals; ability to interpret complex technical diagrams. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors-trailers, farm machinery or industrial equipment is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely; physically capable of working in various environmental conditions. Excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients or team members regarding repairs or maintenance needs. Certification in automotive repair or diesel engine repair is advantageous; ongoing training in electrical systems or service technician certifications is a plus. Pay:
$26.44 - $30.46 per hour
