Up to $5,000 DOE Are you a Diesel Mechanic looking to expand your skill set beyond trucks or equipment? Interstate Energy Systems is hiring technicians with heavy-duty diesel engine experience to service industrial and commercial generator systems. Diesel engine experience is directly transferable to power generation work. Position Overview In this role, you'll work on large diesel and natural gas engines used in generator systems. If you've worked on Class 8 trucks, construction equipment, agricultural machinery, or industrial diesel engines, this is a strong next step with steady hours, growth, and specialized training. What You'll Do Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty diesel engines and generator systems Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues Perform preventive maintenance and inspections Conduct load bank testing and system startups Complete service documentation and reports Respond to on-call or emergency service requests as needed What We're Looking For Diesel mechanic or technician experience required Backgrounds encouraged to apply: Heavy-duty diesel truck mechanics Heavy equipment or fleet mechanics Industrial engine technicians Military diesel mechanics Knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and aftertreatment preferred Experience with Cummins, Caterpillar, or similar engines a plus Ability to use diagnostic tools and read schematics Valid driver's license; CDL is a plus Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in varied environments Why Diesel Mechanics Choose Power Generation Transferable diesel skill set with training on generators Less repetitive work than fleet or shop roles Field-based role with company vehicle provided Long-term stability in a critical industry Benefits Competitive hourly pay based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance 401(k) with company match Paid time off and holidays Company-provided tools, uniforms, and service vehicle Career advancement and ongoing training About Interstate Energy Systems We are a leader in power generation service and support.
