In this pivotal role, you will oversee the repair and maintenance of a wide range of heavy-duty equipment, including light duty and medium duty diesel vehicles. Your expertise will ensure that all vehicles operate efficiently, safely, and reliably. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned mechanic with a passion for heavy equipment and a drive to lead by example. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, air brakes, HVAC systems, and electrical components on various light and medium duty vehicles. Utilize schematics, technical manuals, and diagnostic tools to accurately identify issues and develop effective repair strategies. Perform fabrication work including welding, soldering, assembly, and modifications to support equipment repairs or customizations. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as tire service, alignment checks, vehicle inspections, fluid changes, and preventive maintenance schedules. Operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing procedures to verify repairs on industrial equipment or farm machinery. Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and documentation for all repairs performed. Requirements Proven experience working in automotive diesel repair or with heavy equipment repair; strong mechanical knowledge across diverse machinery types. Extensive hands-on experience with diesel engine repair, automotive diagnostics, brake repair, power tools use, welding, and fabrication techniques. Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams is essential for troubleshooting complex issues. Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts safely and efficiently. Certification or experience in vehicle maintenance including air brake systems, alignment procedures, HVAC systems, shocks & struts replacement. Physical ability to perform heavy lifting and work in demanding environments; experience with tire service and suspension work preferred. Knowledge of industrial equipment repair practices along with experience working on farm machinery or other specialized machinery is a plus.
