The ideal candidate will have experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining various types of vehicles and equipment. Responsibilities Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment Diagnose mechanical issues and propose solutions Repair or replace defective parts Conduct inspections to ensure vehicles meet safety standards Keep accurate records of work performed Skills Proficient in using diagnostic tools such as an ohmmeter Strong problem-solving abilities Excellent attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team Good communication skills to interact with colleagues and customers Oversee the daily activities of the shop, ensuring efficient workflow and productivity. Maintain building and yard maintenance to ensure the shop is equipped and safe. Coordinate with local vendors to secure employee uniforms, hazardous material disposal, chemical supplies, etc.
Maintain shop records for:
parts inventories, receipts PO's, outside labor, equipment repairs and contracts. Manage repair decisions for shop equipment. Maintain warranty coverage of equipment repairs and ensure warranty claims are filed correctly. Mentor and develop other technicians to ensure productivity and efficiency standards are met. Ensure the shop is compliant with all government regulations (state and federal
EPA & OSHA
). Responsible for training of safety programs for maintenance shop employees, EPA & OSHA Identify chronic and repetitive fleet repair issues and determine optimal solutions based on safety, time and cost. Communicate fleet availability status, coordinate with Transportation Manager regarding fleet and driver assignments. Coordinate the completion of OEM Original Equipment Manufacturer Vehicle Recalls Maintain all trailers Perform BIT inspections to evaluate the success of the maintenance program. Regularly interact with Dispatch and Transportation Manager to measure maintenance performance; make corrective action recommendations based on findings. Coordinate with Dispatch and Transportation Manager to perform preventative maintenance Coordinate with Dispatch and Transportation Manager to schedule and manage the fleet cleaning services. Responsible for registering and licensing all vehicles under your management. Maintain vehicle files with proof of licensing, insurance
OMV & DOT
records. Assist in budgeting and financial management tracking expenses and inventory.
