Commercial Diesel Engine Mechanic (Detroit & Cummins Specialist) Cty of Cmmrce, CA 90040 $30.47 - $36.70 an hour - Full-time $30.47 - $36.70 an hour - Full-time Job Overview We are seeking an experienced Commercial Diesel Engine Mechanic with a strong background in Detroit Diesel and Cummins engines. This role is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of commercial motor coaches to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with DOT standards. Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on Detroit and Cummins diesel engines Troubleshoot engine, fuel, electrical, and aftertreatment systems (DPF, DEF, EGR) Conduct inspections in compliance with DOT and company safety standards Complete work orders, maintenance logs, and inspection reports accurately Perform engine overhauls, injector replacements, turbo repairs, and related work Collaborate with operations to minimize vehicle downtime Maintain a clean and organized work environment Experience Minimum 5 years of experience working on commercial diesel engines (Detroit Diesel and Cummins required) Strong diagnostic skills with electronic diagnostic tools (e.g., Cummins INSITE, Detroit DiagnosticLink) Experience working on motor coaches, buses, or heavy-duty trucks Knowledge of DOT inspection standards and compliance requirements Ability to work independently and manage time effectively Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred but not required)
Pay:
$30.47 - $36.70 per hour
