In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment and vehicles in the field. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of machinery used in industrial, agricultural, construction, and transportation settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on diverse equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and farm machinery, all while providing exceptional service to our clients. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and HVAC systems using schematics and technical manuals. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacements, and wheel alignments to ensure equipment longevity. Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and hand tools to meet specific repair requirements. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during repair or testing procedures. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics to identify issues accurately for timely repairs. Assist with assembly and disassembly of machinery components while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and logs of all repairs performed; communicate effectively with team members and clients regarding maintenance needs. Experience Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in heavy equipment operation and automotive repair. Dealership experience preferred but not required; candidates with extensive hands-on experience in industrial or farm machinery are encouraged to apply. Familiarity with schematics for electrical systems and hydraulic diagrams is essential for precise troubleshooting. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; able to use power tools confidently for various repair tasks. Knowledge of diesel engine repair, transmissions, air brake systems, suspension components, HVAC systems, tire service, and wheel alignment. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in diverse environments; excellent mechanical knowledge combined with customer service skills is highly valued. Certifications in automotive diagnostics or heavy equipment maintenance are advantageous but not mandatory; ongoing training opportunities are available for motivated individuals.
