Diesel Hydraulic Mechanic

SUMMARY The primary job task for this position will be preventative maintenance and repairs to gas and diesel equipment and other systems as needed. Troubleshooting, completion of assigned work orders with minimum supervision. Work schedule may vary.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

Assigned Tasks:

Communicate well with supervisor and manager. Must be able to accept written and verbal direction from supervisor. Troubleshoot and repair various types of equipment. Ability to diagnose problem by analyzing data on the scanner. Complete preventative maintenance procedures and repair assigned work orders as assigned by management within scheduled time frame. Prioritizing and planning work activities and use time efficiently. Able to deal with frequent changes in priorities, delays or unexpected events. Detect defective equipment and repair as necessary. Identify and resolve problems in a timely manner by gathering and analyzing information in a skillful manner. Work in a fast paced environment Respond promptly and professional to internal customer needs. Must be able to repair, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, fuel injection and hydraulic equipment. Must be able to rebuild and repair gas and diesel engines. Must have knowledge of air brakes. Must be able to perform work outside of the shop and attend service calls. Must maintain equipment in peak operating condition. Must be responsible for maintaining a safe and clean work area. Other various maintenance tasks as directed by the Supervisor or Maintenance Manager.

REQUIREMENTS

Must have a valid CA drivers' license High School Diploma or Equivalent Minimum 2yrs mechanical experience or 1yr experience with a Technical School Certificate. Must be able to work overtime when required, including weekends and holidays Good written, verbal and math proficiency Able to communicate basic English Demonstrate problem solving abilities Must be able to work independently with minimum supervision. Ability to work in extreme temperatures Must have knowledge of how to use basic hand and power tools Ability to lift up to 75lbs. Must be able to perform the following task for a period of 8 hours on concrete floor, some of which may include but is not limited to standing, stooping, walking, climbing, and lifting.
