Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of machinery used across various industries, including construction, transportation, and agriculture. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment, develop your technical skills, and contribute to a fast-paced, safety-conscious environment. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical components using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and service manuals. Conduct routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, tire service, air brake adjustments, wheel alignments, and fluid replacements to keep equipment operating at peak efficiency. Fabricate and modify parts or components using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to meet specific repair needs or customizations. Repair and maintain heavy machinery including excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics to identify issues accurately and efficiently. Operate heavy equipment safely during repairs or testing procedures while adhering to all safety protocols. Maintain detailed service records, inspection reports, and repair logs; communicate effectively with team members and customers about repair status and recommendations. Experience Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engines and heavy equipment repair in a dealership or industrial setting. Strong familiarity with OEM parts catalogs, schematics interpretation, and diagnostic tools for diesel engines and related systems. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and assembly of mechanical components. Knowledge of hydraulics, air brake systems, transmissions, suspension alignment, HVAC systems in vehicles or machinery. Ability to operate heavy equipment safely for testing or troubleshooting purposes. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, power lifts (such as forklifts), and other maintenance equipment. Excellent mechanical knowledge combined with electrical troubleshooting skills; previous service technician experience is highly valued. Customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients regarding repairs or maintenance needs.
