Commercial Truck Technician (CDL Preferred - Volvo Experience Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Commercial Truck Technician to inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy-duty trucks, with a preference for candidates holding a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) and experience working on Volvo trucks. The ideal candidate will ensure all vehicles operate safely and efficiently while meeting DOT and company standards. Key Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on commercial trucks and trailers Troubleshoot engine, transmission, brake, suspension, and electrical systems Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations Repair diesel engines, including aftertreatment systems (DPF, DEF) Work on OEM systems, especially Volvo truck platforms Use diagnostic tools and software to identify mechanical issues Perform road tests (CDL preferred) to verify repairs Maintain accurate service records and repair documentation Follow shop safety procedures and company policies Welding Qualifications High school diploma or GED (technical training preferred) Valid CDL (preferred but not always required) 2+ years of experience with heavy-duty trucks Experience with Volvo trucks strongly preferred Knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, and electrical systems Ability to use diagnostic software and tools Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Certifications (Preferred) ASE Certification (e.g., T-Series for trucks) OEM certifications (especially Volvo training programs) EPA certification for refrigerant handling (if working on HVAC systems) Physical Requirements Ability to lift 50+ lbs Stand, bend, and work in various positions for extended periods Work in shop and outdoor environments Work Environment Fleet maintenance shop Exposure to noise, grease, and heavy equipment May include overtime or emergency repairs Compensation & Benefits (example) Competitive hourly pay based on experience Overtime opportunities Health, dental, and vision insurance Live Insurance Full paid Contact 559-779-1478
