HEAVY DUTY DIESEL MECHANIC

Required to travel 30% of the time
POSITION SUMMARY
Mechanics will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing various types of equipment in multiple locations as needed. Must have clean driving records for insurance purposes and possess a valid
DL. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 90-BIT
inspections DOT- inspections Electrical charging/ starting/ lighting Diagnosis of mechanical/ hydraulic problems Testing/ repairing air brakes systems Keeps equipment available for use by inspecting and testing. Maintains equipment functional condition by listening to operator complaints; conducting inspections; repairing engine failures; repairing mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions; replacing parts and components; repairing body damage. Verifies vehicle serviceability by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems.
QUALIFICATIONS CLEAR
driving records for insurance purposes Must have valid California Driver License class C DL Class A or B a plus!
  • 3+ years of repair experience in the following equipment
  • Kenworth Ford Bobcats
  • 2+ years of repair experience in the following equipment
  • Forklift (Hyster & Wiggins) Ingersoll Rand's 185 and 375 Compressors
  • Must be able to repair all types of transportation equipment: gas and diesel Perform maintenance and repair of various types of mobile construction equipment Have knowledge of using hand tools and portable power tools Possess strong technical knowledge of mechanical equipment Ability to travel Comply with the safety standards and precautionary measures while at work site Experience and considerable knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in the maintenance and repair of various types of heavy equipment and other power driven equipment and tools Ability to understand and carry out complex oral and written instructions Ability to analyze and repair mechanical failures Ability to work effectively and establish good working relationships with other employees High School diploma or equivalent required
SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Employee required to remain on his or her feet in an upright position for continuous periods of time Employee required to walk considerable distances in the facility and on job site Employee required to raise or lower objects from one level to another regularly during the shift 50 to 100 pounds Employee required, on a regular basis, to carry objects over 80 pounds Employee required, on a regular basis, to push and pull 80 pounds Employee regularly picks up objects with fingers Employee regularly holding concrete pound pump hose for continuous periods of time Employee regularly required to use the hands and arms to reach for objects
