Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled and motivated CNG and Diesel Semi Truck Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of semi trucks powered by compressed natural gas (CNG) and diesel engines. Your expertise will ensure our vehicles operate safely, efficiently, and reliably across various operational environments. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with heavy-duty equipment, enhance your technical skills, and contribute to a high-performance transportation operation. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive inspections, diagnostics, repairs, and preventive maintenance on CNG and diesel-powered semi trucks. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues involving transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension, HVAC systems, and engine components. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to accurately identify problems and execute repairs efficiently. Conduct fabrication tasks such as welding, assembly, and modifications on heavy equipment and truck components. Service and repair auxiliary equipment including forklifts, excavators, cranes, farm machinery, and other industrial equipment. Replace or repair tires, shocks & struts, brakes, alignments, and perform wheel balancing to ensure optimal vehicle performance. Use power tools and hand tools safely for various repair tasks while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities, repairs performed, parts used, and diagnostic findings. Support heavy lifting operations using appropriate safety techniques when handling large or awkward components. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service delivery while providing excellent customer service to internal clients. Skills Proven experience working as a mechanic in dealership or heavy equipment environments with strong automotive diagnostics skills. Extensive knowledge of diesel engine repair, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and wheel alignment. Ability to read and interpret schematics for electrical wiring diagrams and hydraulic schematics. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and soldering; capable of performing assembly tasks on various machinery parts. Proficiency with heavy equipment operation such as forklifts, excavators, cranes, tractors-trailers, and farm machinery. Familiarity with Caterpillar equipment or similar industrial brands is a plus. Experience with vehicle maintenance including tire service, shocks & struts replacement, brake repair, and general automotive repair. Strong mechanical knowledge complemented by electrical experience for troubleshooting complex systems. Ability to operate power tools safely while maintaining high standards of quality workmanship.
