MARINE DIESEL MECHANIC

Svendsen's Bay Marine is a full service boatyard in the historic Richmond Shipyards District on San Francisco Bay. With the Bay's largest travelift (100 ton), we haul-out and repair sail and power yachts, Coast Guard vessels, water taxis, tugboats, pilot boats and marine vessels of all kinds. SBM is a factory certified dealer for Volvo Penta, Yanmar, Northern Lights/Lugger, John Deere, Cummins, Steyr Engines and Hamilton Jet; in addition, we service all makes and models of engines and transmissions. Our Engine Shop has just been expanded, is large and well-outfitted and features all equipment required for our dealerships. Svendsen's Bay Marine offers a wide variety of training options, including Volvo Penta, Yanmar, Northern Lights, John Deere, Cummins, Hamilton Jet, Steyr Engines and ABYC certifications. Our compensation package includes very competitive hourly rates depending on experience (we do not pay flat rates) and excellent benefits including 401k, profit-sharing, paid vacations and holidays as well as medical, dental and life insurance. We are seeking an experienced Marine Diesel Mechanic that meets the following requirements: Experience (and training) in diesel engine maintenance, with preference for experience with Volvo Penta, Cummins, John Deere, Yanmar or Northern Lights. Ability to work independently with little direct supervision Ability to diagnose and repair engine, transmission and generator mechanical or electrical failures Ability to travel and work offsite Written and spoken fluency in the English language
