Diesel Mechanic (1 year experience)

Job Description:

Capital Express Lines, a leading trucking company operating a fleet of 100 trucks and dry vans, is seeking a skilled and reliable Diesel Mechanic to join our maintenance team in Sacramento, CA. The Diesel Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and maintaining our fleet to ensure optimal performance, safety, and compliance with all regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on diesel trucks and dry vans Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues Conduct brake repairs, engine diagnostics, transmission repairs, and tire services Maintain accurate maintenance and repair records Ensure all repairs are completed efficiently and in accordance with safety standards Assist in the ordering of parts and supplies as needed Follow company policies and procedures related to safety and environmental compliance Support fleet readiness and minimize downtime through proactive maintenance

Qualifications:

Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably in a commercial trucking environment Strong knowledge of diesel engine systems, electronic diagnostics, and repair techniques Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools Valid ASE certifications are preferred Valid driver's license with a clean driving record Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a team
