Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge in diesel engine repair and maintenance, with a strong background in heavy equipment operation and automotive diagnostics. This role requires a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and repairing various types of diesel-powered machinery, including excavators, cranes, and farm equipment. The Senior Diesel Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our fleet. Duties Perform diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, including Caterpillar engines, using advanced diagnostic tools and equipment. Conduct routine maintenance on heavy machinery, including forklifts, tractor-trailers, and industrial equipment. Troubleshoot mechanical issues related to transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and HVAC components. Utilize schematics to assist in the repair and assembly of various systems within diesel-powered vehicles. Execute fabrication tasks as needed for custom repairs or modifications. Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed on vehicles and equipment. Provide exceptional customer service by communicating effectively with clients regarding their equipment needs and repair status. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and high-quality service delivery. Adhere to safety protocols while performing heavy lifting and operating power tools. Requirements •Must have a Class A License• Proven experience as a mechanic or service technician with a focus on diesel engines. Dealership experience is preferred but not required. Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. Familiarity with automotive repair techniques including brake repair, shocks & struts replacement, alignment services, and tire service. Experience working with heavy equipment operation such as excavators and cranes is highly desirable. Ability to read and interpret schematics for electrical systems. Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical issues efficiently. Excellent communication skills for effective customer interaction. Willingness to perform heavy lifting as required by job duties. Electrical experience is a plus; soldering skills are also beneficial.
