The candidate will function in accordance with the equivalent responsibilities of an Engineering Technician IV to provide technical assistance with inspecting and maintaining critical shipboard systems as directed by Navy Regional Maintenance Centers to include:
Main Propulsion Diesel Engines Diesel Engine Couplings Clutch Assemblies Lubricating Oil Systems Combustion Air Systems Power Generation Diesel Engines Security Clearance Requirements:
Must possess, or be able to obtain, and maintain an active Department of Defense (DoD) SECRET Security Clearance.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:
3 to 5 years of experience operating and maintaining Navy shipboard diesel-power generating equipment Direct knowledge of Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual, Navy Standard Items, and applicable Naval Ships' Technical Manuals Demonstrated experience performing Navy assessments and inspections Ability to execute physical shipboard surveys in accordance with assigned division protocols Ability to read and interpret technical documentation pertaining to critical shipboard assessments Ability to coordinate with internal and external stakeholders MS Office suite proficiency required Have completed, or ability to complete, Diesel Engine Inspection course within two years of hire Ability to use clear and concise oral and written communications Associate's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, or a similar field Two additional years of specific experience may be substituted for the educational requirement •Please note that your resume and candidacy is subject to customer approval and acceptance and clearing of the required background check.
