Qualifications:

Our Diesel Mechanics must have complete working knowledge of engines, transmissions, differentials and other assemblies, braking systems (hydraulic and air), HVAC, suspension systems, electronic systems, ADA vehicle operations, air systems, on a variety of vehicles. Must have a Class B license or has committed to taking a class to be completed within 90 days of hire. Must have 4 plus years of experience in the field Must have completion of advanced classes on all major vehicle models in the fleet, required to take 40 hours of online classes as directed per year.

Responsibilities:

Will use gauges, special tools, and specialized electronic equipment to diagnose mechanical failure or problems. Ability to use any maintenance/repair manual, parts catalog and maintenance software. Communicate with manufacturer representatives concerning repairs, parts and diagnostic equipment. Serve as team lead when assigned. Job requires mechanic to crawl under buses, stretch and lift heavy objects. Disassemble and perform partial or complete overhauls as necessary (Diesel, CNG and Gasoline combustion engines).
