In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a diverse fleet of heavy-duty diesel vehicles and equipment. Your expertise will ensure the safety, reliability, and optimal performance of our fleet, supporting our operational efficiency. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with a variety of industrial and heavy machinery, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to keep our fleet running smoothly. Someone that knows how to work on 53foor reefers and heavy duty semi trucks. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension, and HVAC components. Conduct routine maintenance including oil changes, tire service, brake repairs, shocks & struts replacement, and wheel alignments. Fabricate and modify parts or equipment using power tools, welding, soldering, and hand tools to meet specific repair needs. Troubleshoot electrical systems and interpret schematics to identify issues accurately. Repair and maintain heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, farm machinery, industrial equipment, and tractor-trailers. Perform assembly and disassembly of vehicle components ensuring proper installation and safety standards are met. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed for compliance and tracking purposes. Requirements Proven experience working as a diesel mechanic with dealership or heavy equipment background preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in automotive diagnostics, engine repair (including diesel engines), transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and soldering; ability to use power tools effectively. Familiarity with schematics for heavy equipment operation and maintenance procedures. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while working in various conditions; physically fit for demanding tasks. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members and clients. Valid certifications in automotive repair or related fields are advantageous; experience with Caterpillar or similar industrial equipment is a plus.
