Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of machinery used in industrial, farm, construction, and transportation settings. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers, utilizing your mechanical knowledge and hands-on skills to keep operations running smoothly. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines and related systems using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and automotive diagnostics tools. Repair transmissions, brakes (including air brake systems), suspensions, hydraulics, and steering components for various vehicles and equipment. Fabricate parts or components as needed using power tools, welding techniques, soldering, and hand tools to support equipment repair or customization projects. Conduct alignment procedures and perform tire service including replacement and balancing for trucks and heavy machinery. Maintain detailed service records, schematics documentation, and repair logs to track work performed and parts used. Assist in heavy lifting operations safely using appropriate heavy equipment operation skills while adhering to safety protocols. Requirements Proven mechanic experience with a focus on diesel engine repair in a dealership or industrial environment. Strong mechanical knowledge of vehicle maintenance, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and electrical troubleshooting. Hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and assembly of mechanical parts. Familiarity with OEM parts catalogs and schematics for accurate diagnostics and repairs. Proficiency with automotive diagnostics tools and service technician experience is highly desirable.
