Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Diesel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in diesel engines and have the ability to perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy-duty vehicles. This role requires a hands-on individual with a passion for troubleshooting and fixing complex problems.
Responsibilities:
Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related systems
Perform routine maintenance tasks such as oil changes, filter replacements, and tire rotations
Conduct brake inspections and repairs as needed
Troubleshoot and repair HVAC systems
Utilize soldering and welding skills to make necessary repairs
Maintain a clean and organized workspace
Provide excellent customer service and communicate effectively with clients
Keep detailed records of all work performed
Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient and effective service
Stay up-to-date on the latest technologies and techniques in the diesel industry
Possess the ability to transmit knowledge and skills to less experienced technicians
Diagnose complex electrical issues efficiently
Perform 90 day inspections on trucks/trailers
Evaluate and repair air conditioning systems
Replace brakes/bearings/drums/s-cam bushings
Repair undercarriage suspension parts
Evaluate air brakes functionality and leak test
Diagnose Abs brake systems on trucks and trailers
Experience working with Caterpillar equipment and systems
Familiarity with tractor-trailers and other heavy-duty vehicles
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
2+ years of experience as a diesel technician or mechanic
Strong mechanical knowledge and understanding of diesel engine technology
Experience working with Caterpillar equipment and systems
Proficiency in soldering and welding
Familiarity with tractor-trailers and other heavy-duty vehicles
Ability to maintain a high level of productivity and efficiency
Excellent customer service skills
Ability to transmit knowledge and skills to less experienced technicians
A valid driver's license
A commitment to ongoing training and professional development
Physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing circumstances
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow safety protocols
Ability to work independently and as part of a team Pay is based on experience.
Working weekends during season.
