  • Full-time We are seeking an experienced and dependable Diesel / Gas Mechanic to join our maintenance team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel or gas-powered vehicles in our fleet, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. This role involves routine maintenance, emergency repairs, and accurate documentation. Position is full time, Monday-Friday, day shift.
  • Experience with Diesel/Gas engine fundamentals, batteries and starting systems, ignition and computer systems, heavy vehicle hydraulics preventative maintenance and inspection, and truck steering systems.
Must Have:
  • Knowledge of fuel systems, hydraulics, diagnostics, and welding.
  • Plan work procedures, using technical charts and manuals
  • Inspect brake systems, steering mechanisms, transmissions, engines, and other parts of vehicles
  • Follow checklists to ensure that all critical parts are examined
  • Read and interpret diagnostic test results to identify mechanical problems
  • Repair or replace malfunctioning components, parts, and other mechanical or electrical equipment
  • Perform basic care and maintenance, including changing oil, checking fluid levels, and rotating tires
  • Test-drive vehicles to ensure that they run smoothly
Qualifications:
  • High School diploma
  • Utility and/or Construction Background
  • Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) preferred
  • Valid Drivers License
  • CDL Preferred
  • Three to five years' experience required
  • Great oral and written skills
  • Detail oriented
  • Dexterity
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
