In this energetic role, you'll diagnose, troubleshoot, and service diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, brakes, suspension systems, and more to ensure our fleet operates smoothly and safely. Your mechanical expertise will keep our operations running efficiently while providing exceptional service to our customers. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, air brake systems, hydraulics, suspension components, and HVAC systems. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, alignment checks, and brake repairs to maximize vehicle longevity. Utilize schematics and technical manuals to accurately identify issues and execute precise repairs. Fabricate parts or modify equipment using hand tools, power tools, welding, soldering, and fabrication techniques to meet specific repair needs. Operate heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers safely and efficiently during maintenance or repair procedures. Inspect farm machinery and industrial equipment for wear or damage; perform necessary repairs or recommend replacements. Maintain detailed service records, complete repair reports promptly, and ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications. Requirements Proven mechanic experience with a strong background in heavy equipment operation and diagnostics. Experience is highly preferred for familiarity with specific systems like super vac trucks and roll off. Proficiency in reading schematics, electrical systems, and hydraulic diagrams to troubleshoot complex issues effectively. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other fabrication tools. Knowledge of vehicle maintenance including transmissions, air brakes, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, tire service, wheel alignment, and suspension components. Ability to lift heavy parts or equipment safely during repairs; physical stamina for demanding tasks is essential. Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent customer service skills to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
