Farmington, CT Type of Construction/Work they perform: Mining / Manufacturing / Landscape Supply (Residential Commercial Industrial, Government or Federal) Job Overview Dunning Industries Inc is seeking two experienced Diesel Mechanics to join our Logistics & Operations team. This is a hands-on role responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining diesel-powered equipment and fleet vehicles that support our manufacturing and distribution of landscape related materials to residential, commercial, industrial, and government projects. Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to): Diagnose and repair diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and electrical systems Perform preventative maintenance on fleet vehicles and heavy equipment Conduct DOT inspections and ensure compliance with safety regulations Troubleshoot and repair air brake, hydraulic, and electrical systems Repair transmissions, clutches, suspension, and exhaust systems Complete detailed work orders and maintain accurate maintenance records Inspect equipment for operational safety and performance issues Collaborate with operations personnel to prioritize equipment repairs Maintain a clean and organized work environment Qualifications Minimum 2+ years of diesel mechanic experience preferred High School Diploma or GED required Strong knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics, electrical systems, and air brake systems Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Ability to diagnose mechanical and electrical issues efficiently Experience performing preventative maintenance and DOT inspections Valid driver's license required (CDL preferred but not required) Ability to lift, bend, and work in shop and outdoor environments Strong attention to detail and documentation skills Welding/Fabrication skills preferred not required Valid driver's license - Medical Card, Class A or B CDL is a plus Compensation & Benefits $30-$36 per hour (based on experience) Pension Plan Available Paid Time Off Health / Dental Insurance Available Year-End Bonus Full-Time Employment Stability Opportunities for growth within Logistics & Operations Overtime available Work Schedule Monday-Friday Overtime available based on operational needs Work Location Onsite (Primary work location) Travel may be required occasionally to support field equipment or job sites Equal Employment Opportunity We are proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
