In this energetic role, you'll leverage your mechanical expertise to diagnose, troubleshoot, and service diesel engines, industrial machinery, farm equipment, and commercial vehicles. Your hands-on skills will ensure our fleet operates smoothly, safely, and efficiently, supporting various industries including construction, agriculture, and transportation. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and electrical components using schematics and service manuals. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire services, air brake inspections, wheel alignments, and vehicle inspections to ensure optimal performance. Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and fabrication techniques to assemble or repair heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and other industrial machinery. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform automotive diagnostics to identify issues accurately and efficiently. Repair or replace components such as shocks & struts, axles, transmissions, HVAC units, and hydraulic lines while adhering to safety standards. Operate heavy equipment safely for testing purposes or during repair procedures. Maintain detailed service records and complete shift reports documenting all repairs performed. Assist with equipment assembly or modification projects as needed to enhance operational capabilities. Support customer service efforts by communicating repair status clearly and providing technical advice when necessary. Ensure compliance with safety protocols during all maintenance activities including heavy lifting and tire services. Experience Proven experience working as a Diesel Technician or Heavy Equipment Mechanic within a dealership or industrial environment. Hands-on experience with fabrication techniques involving welding and metalworking. Familiarity with excavator operation, crane maintenance, forklift servicing, tractor-trailer repairs, farm machinery upkeep, and industrial equipment troubleshooting. Strong knowledge of Caterpillar machinery specifications and schematics interpretation. Skilled in automotive repair including brake systems, transmissions, wheel alignments, suspension work, HVAC systems, electrical diagnostics, and tire services. Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools (including power drills), soldering equipment, welding gear, and other maintenance tools safely and effectively. Mechanical knowledge encompassing hydraulics systems, vehicle maintenance routines for both light and heavy-duty vehicles. Experience with service technician tasks such as troubleshooting electrical issues or performing complex repairs on diesel engines. Ability to lift heavy components safely while maintaining proper technique during repairs or replacements. Excellent problem-solving skills combined with a customer-focused approach to service delivery.
