Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic Service Technician to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of machinery used in various industrial, agricultural, and transportation settings. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, air brake systems, suspension, and electrical components using OEM schematics and advanced automotive diagnostics tools. Conduct repairs and maintenance on heavy equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, and farm machinery to ensure peak operational efficiency. Fabricate parts and components as needed using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to meet specific job requirements. Troubleshoot complex mechanical issues involving Caterpillar or other OEM equipment by interpreting schematics and technical manuals. Carry out preventive maintenance tasks including tire service, alignment adjustments, brake repairs, HVAC servicing, and general vehicle maintenance to minimize downtime. Operate heavy machinery safely during repair procedures or testing phases while adhering to safety protocols. Maintain detailed service records, complete inspection reports, and document all repairs performed for accountability and future reference. Skills Proven heavy equipment service technician experience with a strong mechanical knowledge base. Expertise in diesel engine repair, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, air brakes, and electrical troubleshooting. Skilled in using OEM schematics for accurate diagnostics and repairs; familiar with automotive diagnostics software. Proficient with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment (including soldering), and fabrication techniques. Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators or forklifts safely; experience with heavy equipment operation is a plus. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members. Capable of performing heavy lifting safely while maintaining attention to detail during complex repairs or assembly tasks.
