Diesel Mechanic with Class A license Spring Hill, FL 34610 $20

  • Full-time American Mulch and Soil, a leading mulch blower truck installation, and mulch manufacturing company is seeking a skilled and experienced Diesel Mechanic to join our team.
The successful candidate will have strong time management skills, be able to work independently without being micromanaged, and want to learn new complex mechanical systems. We are not going to sit over you and manage your day like a corporate nightmare, but in turn we are looking for someone with a lot of grit and a get it done attitude. We are seeking someone who can manage multiple complex problems and turn out equipment quickly, and safely so we can get back to work. You will be responsible for maintaining and repairing our fleet of diesel semis, blower trucks, and heavy equipment, ensuring they are safe, reliable, and in top operating condition. This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits and plenty of overtime. Also expect upward movement and career advancement opportunities.
Responsibilities:
  • Conduct routine maintenance and repairs on diesel trucks/heavy equipment, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and hydraulic systems
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical issues and develop effective solutions to repair them
  • Perform inspections, preventative maintenance, and regular servicing of semis and blower trucks in compliance with DOT regulations and manufacturer's specifications
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance and repair work, including parts used and time spent on each task
  • Maintain a clean and organized shop environment
  • Communicate effectively with other mechanics, drivers, and management to ensure efficient and effective repair and maintenance of our fleet
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent. School of hard knocks is a welcome degree
  • At least 2 years of experience as a diesel mechanic, preferably with experience working on semis, heavy equipment, hydraulics or blower trucks
  • Knowledge of hydraulic systems, diesel engine systems, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams
  • Familiarity with diagnostic tools and equipment
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Spanish speaking is a plus
  • Drivers license in good standing and able to get on company insurance
