Job Description
We are seeking a dependable and hardworking individual to join our team as a Diesel Mechanic. Formal job experience is not required; however, candidates must have hands-on experience repairing diesel trucks and heavy equipment. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail-oriented, and capable of diagnosing and repairing a wide range of diesel engines and machinery. Reliability, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to learn are essential. Applicants must also have their own tools. Concrete Cutting Equipment Maintenance & Repair Diagnose and repair walk-behind saws, hand saws, wall saws, wire saws, and core drilling rigs. Service gas, electric, and hydraulic-powered cutting equipment. Replace worn parts (bearings, belts, seals, shafts, motors). Maintain water systems used for cooling and dust suppression. Inspect and service diamond blades and cutting assemblies. Diesel Work Truck Maintenance & Repair Inspect, diagnose, and repair diesel engines in company trucks (flatbeds, box trucks, utility/service trucks).
Perform preventive maintenance:
oil changes, fuel filters, air filters, DEF systems, and fluid checks.
Troubleshoot and repair:
Fuel systems (injectors, pumps, fuel lines) Turbochargers and exhaust systems Cooling systems (radiators, thermostats, water pumps) Service and repair braking systems (air brakes and hydraulic brakes). Maintain and repair transmissions and drivetrains (manual and automatic). Diagnose electrical issues (batteries, alternators, starters, wiring harnesses). Perform DOT inspections and ensure trucks meet road safety regulations. Hydraulic Systems (Equipment & Trucks) Repair hydraulic systems on saws and truck-mounted equipment Diagnose issues with pumps, cylinders, valves, and hoses. Replace hydraulic lines and fittings and test for leaks and pressure integrity. Electrical Systems Troubleshoot electrical systems on both equipment and diesel trucks. Repair lighting systems, trailer wiring, control panels, and safety switches. Maintain onboard truck electronics and diagnostic systems. Fabrication & Custom Work Weld and fabricate mounts, racks, and storage systems for trucks. Modify truck beds to carry saws, blades, water tanks, and tools. Build or reinforce equipment mounts and safety guards. Preventive Maintenance Program Schedule and perform routine service for both equipment and fleet vehicles. Maintain service intervals to reduce downtime. Track hours/mileage for maintenance cycles. Field Service & Emergency Repairs Respond to job sites for breakdowns of equipment or trucks. Perform roadside or on-site diesel repairs when possible. Inventory & Parts Management Manage inventory of: Equipment parts (belts, hoses) Truck parts (filters, fluids, brake components) Maintain organized shop and parts storage. Inspections & Compliance Conduct DOT inspections for commercial vehicles. Ensure compliance with safety and environmental regulations. Inspect equipment for OSHA compliance and safe operation. Coordination & Support Work with operators and drivers to identify issues. Train staff on basic truck checks (pre-trip inspections) and equipment care. Communicate repair timelines and equipment availability. Expanded Skills Required Diesel engine diagnostics and repair Knowledge of DOT regulations and inspections Hydraulics and heavy equipment systems Welding and fabrication Electrical troubleshooting (12V/24V systems) Work Environment Shop-based with occasional field service calls. Exposure to grease, fuel, noise, and outdoor conditions. Physically demanding (lifting, crawling under trucks, standing long hours).
Pay:
$25.00 - $31.00 per hour
