Diesel Mechanic Starting Compensation:
$4500-7500 Monthly (Starting Pay based on experience, tools, and what you bring to the table.) We are expanding! Lot's of room for growth. No vaccine card needed. No mask required.
Position Location:
Cartersville, Georgia In search of a diesel mechanic with experience in Powerstrokes, Cummins, and Duramax's. 40 hours a week guaranteed. Scan tools provided if needed. We are opening up a fully up to date facility in 2026-2027 that is going to be the best in North Georgia. Here's some things we look for: Is a trustworthy team player. Is available to work (40) hours a week Monday-Friday. Occasional Saturdays if needed. Can be held accountable to perform the job without needing supervision and can hold themselves to a high standard as well as his team members. • We are not looking for is a parts replacer, we are looking for a problem solver that can properly diagnose. We stock over 100 diesel trucks for retail at all times, and mechanically go through over 500 units/yr. Great part about it is that it's the same type of vehicles coming in, after some years you become more mastered in a niche. What we are looking for is an experienced Diesel Mechanic who can perform the following: Troubleshooting and properly diagnosing. this includes electrical and mechanical. Selecting appropriate/efficient course of action for scheduled repairs Takes the appropriate steps to ensure their work orders are completed accurately Engine Part Replacements after properly diagnosing. Revises work performed by techs to ensure each vehicle is completed properly. • Properly diagnosing parts that need to be replaced, such as front end parts, wheel seals, alternator, batteries/terminals, injectors, turbos, sensors, head gaskets (Rare but occasional), sunroofs, steering gearboxes, fixing oil leaks such as rear mains seals, upper oil pans, front main seals, etc. Performing Electrical Diagnostics and repairs (as needed) Properly diagnosing front end components of vehicles and replacing parts as needed. Keeps work area clean and sets a high standard for themselves and other team members. Weld or solder broken parts and structural members using electric or gas welders and soldering tools. ( Welding is not a necessity). Clean parts by spraying them with grease solvent or immersing them in tanks of solvent Seeking supervisor approval when necessary. If you don't know how to do something it is better to ask then cause damage. Moving vehicles safely around the Cartersville Trucks premises as well as on test drives. Communicating professionally to team members and supervisors. Checks in and on to make sure technicians are doing their job properly and efficiently. Actively willing to participate in safety or educational training as required Verify vehicle performance by conducting test drives; adjusting controls and systems as needed Exhibits advanced organizational skills when logging vehicle records Respects shop equipment by exhibiting the following; troubleshooting breakdowns, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and/or calling for repairs Cleans up after jobs are finished.
Job Requirements:
Must be able to read, write and speak English. (Spanish is a plus) Must have and maintain a valid driver's license. Be on time to work and meetings. Must be able to communicate with Management, Supervisors and Peers. Must be able to determine and accomplish tasks, priorities and goals without supervision. Must be able to operate vehicles, mechanical devices and equipment in a safe and effective manner.
Physical Demands:
Requires you walk, stand, and sit. Requires use of hands and fingers to handle and feel. Required to climb, balance, kneel, crouch and crawl. Requires use of hearing and smell. Requires ability to lift heavy items when needed. Requires the ability to push and pull items with 100 pounds or more of force.
Environmental Conditions:
Weather conditions such as temperature, moisture and other conditions have a significant impact on the job. This must be tolerated, with or without reasonable accommodations, being exposed frequently to weather conditions. There are high noise levels and significant vibration associated with this position. There are other physical hazards that endanger life, health or bodily injury, such as proximity to moving, mechanical parts, environmental conditions, moving equipment and other hazards. There is exposure to dust, diesel fuel and other substances which may be toxic, cause burns or be explosive. Requires working indoors and outdoors in non-controlled environmental conditions.
