Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment, including trucks, construction machinery, and industrial vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and equipment. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse machinery in a fast-paced environment where your mechanical skills and attention to detail will make a significant impact. Responsibilities Perform comprehensive diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical components using OEM manuals and schematics. Conduct routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire service, air brake inspections, alignments, and fluid replacements to keep equipment operating at peak efficiency. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using hand tools, power tools, welding, and soldering techniques to meet specific repair needs. Repair and service heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, farm machinery, and industrial equipment. Operate heavy machinery safely during repairs or testing procedures to verify repairs or troubleshoot issues. Maintain detailed records of all repairs, maintenance activities, parts used, and diagnostic findings for compliance and reporting purposes. Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of service orders while adhering to safety standards and quality controls. Skills Proven dealership experience with heavy-duty diesel engines and equipment repair. Strong mechanical knowledge of OEM specifications for Caterpillar, Cummins, John Deere, or similar brands. Skilled in reading schematics and technical manuals for troubleshooting electrical systems and hydraulics. Proficient in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and diagnostic software. Experience with fabrication techniques for custom repairs or modifications on heavy machinery. Ability to perform precise alignments and suspension adjustments on various types of vehicles. Knowledge of HVAC systems related to vehicle climate control is a plus. Excellent customer service skills when interacting with clients or team members regarding repairs or maintenance status. Capable of heavy lifting safely while handling tires or large components during repair procedures.
