Diesel Generator Technician

Job Overview We are seeking a skilled Diesel Generator Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine and generator repair, with experience working on heavy equipment and electrical systems. This role involves diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing diesel generators to ensure optimal performance and reliability. The technician will work in a dynamic environment, providing exceptional service to our clients while utilizing a broad range of mechanical and electrical skills. Responsibilities Diagnose and repair diesel generators, including Caterpillar and other major brands Perform routine maintenance and inspections on generators and related equipment Interpret schematics, technical manuals, and wiring diagrams to troubleshoot issues effectively Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques for repairs and modifications Conduct heavy lifting and physical tasks required for equipment servicing Perform electrical repairs involving wiring, circuit boards, and electrical components Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed Assist with vehicle maintenance related to service trucks or mobile repair units Provide excellent customer service by communicating repair status and recommendations clearly Ensure all work complies with safety standards and company policies Requirements Proven experience as a service technician or mechanic, preferably with generator equipment repair Strong knowledge of diesel engines, generator systems, electrical systems, and mechanical components Experience reading schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering tools, and other maintenance instruments Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently in a workshop or field environment Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex mechanical and electrical issues Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information effectively Experience working with Caterpillar or multi quip or similar heavy-duty generator equipment is a plus Valid technical certifications or relevant training in diesel engine repair or electrical systems is preferred This position offers an opportunity to work with cutting-edge equipment in a professional setting dedicated to quality service and technical excellence.
