Job Description

POSITION OVERVIEW
The Heavy Diesel Mechanic II is responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, repairing, and supporting heavy-duty diesel trucks, trailers, construction equipment, crushing/screening machinery, and fleet assets across Pineridge Farms, Inc. operations. This role ensures fleet safety, operational uptime, equipment reliability, and regulatory compliance while supporting PRF's construction trucking, aggregate production, and mobile crushing divisions. The Heavy Diesel Mechanic II works under management direction while adhering to company operational standards, safety protocols, and performance expectations.
CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintenance & Repair Perform advanced maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on heavy-duty diesel trucks, trailers, heavy equipment, crushers, loaders, and support machinery. Diagnose and repair hydraulic, electrical, brake, suspension, steering, fuel, and drivetrain systems. Complete engine, transmission, differential, and major component rebuilds as assigned. Perform welding, fabrication, and equipment modifications when operationally required. Conduct operational testing to verify repairs and safe functionality. Preventive Maintenance (PM) Complete scheduled PM services in accordance with company, DOT, OSHA, and manufacturer requirements. Inspect equipment for safety, regulatory compliance, and mechanical performance. Maintain accurate service records, work orders, inspection logs, and PM documentation. Identify and report developing mechanical issues before failure. Diagnostic & Technical Support Utilize diagnostic software, technical manuals, schematics, and testing equipment to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues. Interpret equipment specifications and repair procedures. Assist in mentoring Mechanic I staff, shop helpers, and support personnel. Provide technical guidance to improve maintenance efficiency. Safety & Compliance Follow all PRF safety policies, OSHA regulations, DOT requirements, and company operational procedures. Maintain clean, safe, and organized workspaces. Properly utilize PPE and report hazards immediately. Ensure proper hazardous material handling and disposal. Support audit readiness and compliance inspections. Administrative & Documentation Complete all repair orders, labor tracking, parts requests, and maintenance documentation accurately and timely. Monitor inventory usage and communicate parts needs to management. Support compliance reporting for fleet records and inspections. Maintain communication regarding equipment downtime and repair timelines. Field Support & Emergency Response Respond to roadside breakdowns, emergency repairs, and field service requests when assigned. Safely operate service vehicles and support fleet continuity. Follow all emergency response and reporting procedures. Team Collaboration Work collaboratively with maintenance, operations, dispatch, and leadership teams. Support employee development through technical collaboration and training. Participate in safety meetings, operational planning, and workforce development initiatives.

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum 3-5 years heavy diesel mechanic experience preferred Experience with construction equipment, trucking fleets, crushing/screening systems, or heavy industrial equipment preferred Valid Hawaii Driver's License required CDL preferred but not required Acceptable driving abstract required Strong mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical diagnostic skills Welding/fabrication experience preferred Ability to lift, carry, and maneuver heavy parts/equipment Ability to work in outdoor, industrial, and physically demanding environments
