Interstate Power Systems Overview Interstate Power Systems is looking for a versatile Service Technician to support our Cedar Rapids operations—working both in the shop and in the field . This role offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of equipment including Carrier transport refrigeration units, generators, heavy-duty trucks, and equipment. If you're a technician who enjoys variety in your day, hands-on problem solving, and the ability to work independently in the field while staying connected to a strong shop team, this is a great fit. What You'll Do Diagnose, repair, and maintain: Carrier Transport Refrigeration systems Generators (including preventative maintenance and repairs) Heavy-duty trucks and diesel equipment Perform both shop-based repairs and field service work at customer locations Troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues efficiently Complete preventative maintenance inspections and service work Communicate clearly with customers, service team, and leadership Maintain accurate service documentation and repair records Ensure all work meets safety and quality standards What We're Looking For 3-5+ years of experience in diesel, heavy equipment, refrigeration, or power systems Experience with one or more of the following: Diesel engines (Cummins, CAT, Detroit, etc.) Transport refrigeration (Carrier preferred) Generator systems / power generation Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills Valid driver's license (CDL is a plus) Ability to work independently in the field and collaboratively in a shop environment Positive attitude, reliability, and strong work ethic Physical ability to perform job duties without restrictions Technical degree or certifications preferred Why Interstate Power Systems?
