MECHANICS
Mechanics collaborate with various personnel such as Lead Field Laborers, Truck Drivers, Saw Cutters, and Equipment Operators to ensure the proper maintenance and safety of tools, fleet vehicles, and equipment. They require concentration, communication, computer proficiency, and estimation skills. Additionally, they must possess a DOT Medical Card for driving company vehicles. Mechanics primarily work in the shop but also engage in outdoor field work in various weather conditions and environments. Adaptability to changing weather and job demands is essential as work may continue despite adverse weather conditions. Mechanics handle automotive, diesel, small engine, and hydraulic systems, along with scissor lifts, JLGs, power equipment, and power hand tools. Their daily tasks include semi repair, brakes, tires, and oil changes on fleet vehicles, as well as equipment repair and oil changes. They also perform repairs on small tools and engines, ensuring everything is functional and safe for use. Mechanics handle electric power tools and equipment spanning from 110 volts to 480 volts, 3-phase systems. This includes various tools such as electric flat saws, wall saws, skid loaders, excavators, chipping hammers, drills, water pumps, generators, and crushers. Summary As an Automotive and Diesel Mechanic, you will be essential in diagnosing and repairing vehicles, ensuring optimal performance and safety. Reporting to the Shop Foreman, your core skills in automotive diagnostics, mechanical knowledge, and vehicle maintenance will be critical in addressing various mechanical issues. Your premium skills in heavy equipment operation and fabrication will enhance our service offerings. Strong communication are vital for effective customer interactions and accurate record-keeping.
