Job Description

Overview Join our dynamic team as a Diesel Mechanic and become a vital part of maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles, trailers, and industrial machinery. This role offers an exciting opportunity to work with a diverse fleet, including semi tractors, excavators, and forklifts, to name a few. You will utilize your mechanical expertise to ensure equipment operates efficiently and safely, supporting our operations across various industries. We value proactive problem-solving, attention to detail, and a passion for vehicle maintenance and repair. This paid position is perfect for experienced mechanics eager to advance their skills in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Perform diagnostics, repairs, and preventative maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, hydraulics, and air brake systems. Conduct fabrication and welding tasks to modify or repair heavy equipment and vehicle components. Maintain and repair diverse machinery including excavators, forklifts, semi tractors, and other industrial equipment. Use hand tools, power tools, and alignment tools to complete repairs accurately and efficiently. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on heavy machinery and automotive systems. Conduct tire services, suspension adjustments, and HVAC repairs as needed. Ensure all work complies with safety standards; perform heavy lifting safely while adhering to proper procedures. Document all maintenance activities thoroughly; interpret schematics for repairs; communicate effectively with team members. Skills Strong mechanical knowledge base. Expertise in diesel engine repair, automotive diagnostics, transmissions, brake repair, hydraulics, suspension systems, and air brake systems. Skilled in fabrication techniques including welding and assembly of mechanical components. Experience operating heavy equipment such as excavators, forklifts or tractor-trailers; industrial equipment operation preferred. Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and HVAC systems. Strong electrical troubleshooting skills; experience with automotive electrical systems advantageous. Excellent customer service skills; ability to communicate technical information clearly to team members. Physical capability for heavy lifting; comfort working in outdoor environments under various weather conditions.
