DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
: + Inspects and repairs vehicles withdiesel engines + Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes along with minor and major repairs from A/C,hydraulics, electrical,welding,engine replacement, transmissions, etc. + Interprets diagnostic test results accurately + Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans in our system + Collaborates with other dieselmechanics + Completes test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctly + Uses power, machine, and hand tools safely + Communicate with drivers for issues in morning and afternoon + Reviews, completes or assigns repairs identified on DriverVehicle InspectionReports + Maintains a clean, safe work area in compliance with corporate andOSHAstandards + Follows all Waste Connections repair shop regulations and standards .
REQUIREMENTS
: + Valid Driver's License with a C lean Driving Record (Required) + Experience in heavy truck equipment maintenance and repair + Providepersonal tools. + Class
B CDL OR
the ability to obtain one within 90 days of employment if required. + Proficiency in vehicle and equipment diagnosis and repair. + Ability to read and comprehend service and technical information in English. .
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT
: + Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds. + Back, leg, arm and shoulder strength required to safely climb in, on and around vehicles to inspect and repair. + Ability to work in awkward, tight, or restricted spaces for extended periods of time; Requires the ability to sit, bend, stoop, crouch, kneel, crawl, and be able to get up and down from a supine position. + Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts which require following basic safety precautions. + The employee is exposed to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration. Noise level is usually moderate. .
