Job Description
Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Diesel Mechanic to join our dynamic maintenance team. In this role, you will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy-duty diesel-powered equipment and vehicles. Your expertise will ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of our fleet and machinery. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with diverse industrial equipment, farm machinery, and heavy-duty vehicles, contributing directly to operational efficiency and safety. Duties Perform comprehensive diagnostics using OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) schematics and automotive diagnostics tools to identify mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in diesel engines and equipment. Conduct repairs and maintenance on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, suspensions, air brake systems, hydraulics, and steering components to ensure peak performance. Fabricate parts or modify existing components using welding, soldering, hand tools, power tools, and fabrication techniques to meet specific operational needs. Service a variety of heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractors, trailer-trucks, and other industrial machinery. Conduct alignment procedures and perform tire service to maintain safety standards across all vehicles and equipment. Troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs on farm machinery, industrial equipment, and automotive systems. Maintain detailed service records, complete shift reports, and document all repairs performed for compliance and future reference. Qualifications Proven experience working as a Diesel Mechanic with dealership experience preferred. Strong mechanical knowledge of diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems in heavy equipment. Proficiency in reading schematics and using diagnostic tools for automotive diagnostics and electrical troubleshooting. Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering irons, and other maintenance tools. Experience with heavy equipment operation such as excavators or cranes is a plus. Knowledge of OEM parts replacement procedures for Caterpillar or similar brands; familiarity with farm machinery is advantageous. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently; excellent customer service skills are a bonus for interacting with internal teams or clients during service calls.
